Both entirely hand sewn w/ construction elements consistent w/ 1840s: 1 indigo resist dyed cotton w/ white floral motif, tomato red bias trim to bodice front, cuff & skirt, vegetable ivory buttons, c. 1880, B 34”, W 26”, L 50”, (0.5” tears CB bodice & CF placket, few tiny holes, minor discoloration hem, wear to underarms, collar & cuffs) Very Good; 1 ecru resist printed cotton dress in crescent moon & star motif w/ applied bias bands & collar, large panel of same material included, likely early aniline dye, B 32”, W 24”, L 49”, sash 12” x 140”, (broad fading to print, 0.25” hole Wband, light wear CF collar, scattered tiny holes & stains, light discoloration to hem, light discoloration & 0.5” repair to sash) Good.
